1. Memory Card – SanDisk 64GB Extreme Pro 170MB/s
There’s no better card for the Canon T7i than the SanDisk 64GB Extreme Pro. The Canon T7i supports a maximum of UHS-I speed, and since this card is UHS-I, this means that you will get the best performance out of it.
It’s super fast, reliable and has more than enough capacity for thousands of shots and Full HD videos. SanDisk has always been number one brand for memory cards and their affordable 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models are too cheap to not get. Check out our list of best memory cards for T7i to see the full selection.
You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.
2. Battery – Canon LP-E17
The T7i has a fairly good battery life, with around 600 shots available before you have to recharge it. It uses the Canon LP-E17 battery just like the majority of entry-level models.
For traveling, weddings or any long photo shoots, you’ll want at least 1 more extra battery. Batteries can fail (rare, but better to be safe), and you should be prepared for this. If you only take pictures once a year, then this investment is not worth it, but if photography is a big hobby/job to you, it’s a must have.
You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.
3. Flash – Neewer TT560
There’s no need to spend hundreds of dollars on a flash! The Neewer TT560 is perfect, affordable (costs under $50) and has plenty of useful features.
First, it will work with many different models of cameras, which includes Canon, Nikon, Sony and more. It can rotate vertically (90 degrees) and horizontally (270 degrees), so you’re free to use it for bouncing the light from a reflector or something similar. On top of that, it has a slave mode so it can fire simultaneously with other flash units.
You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.
4. Tripod – Zomei 65″ Compact Tripod
For landscape, architecture, studio and night time photography, you need a tripod. The Zomei 65″ is affordable and provides good height, support and max load. As soon as you start shooting with slow shutter speeds (below 1/30) you will want one, as tripods are the only way to get sharp results.
The Zomei 65″ weighs 2.6Lb (1.2kg) and supports a max weight of 11Lb (5kg). It’s made of aluminum alloy and is compact to carry around.
If you want to shoot fireworks or do some light painting, you also need a tripod.
You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.
5. Light Reflector – Neewer 43″ 5-in-1 Collapsible Light Reflector
Are you into portrait/wedding photography? Besides a good flash, you’ll want to have the Neewer 5-in-1 Light Reflector that allows you to bounce the light from white, silver, gold or black surfaces.
Even if you don’t have a flash, you can bounce the sun light nicely onto your subject and achieve much more professional looking shots, with warm colors. Alternatively, you can use it for product photography. It costs less than $20 and is truly worth it.
You can buy it at Amazon or see more reviews here.
6. Wireless Flash + Shutter Trigger – Altura Photo Flash Trigger
Using a flash on your camera is good, but using it off the camera is even better. The Altura Photo Flash Trigger allows you to fire your external flash up to 100 feet (30m) away from the camera!
This results in much better control over light, softer shadows, nicer colors etc. It’s great for sports, portraits, studio and pretty much anything you can think of.
Extra feature: This trigger also servers as a wireless flash trigger, which means you can take pictures without being next to the camera (with or without a flash). Since there aren’t any reliable T7i wireless shutter remotes available yet, this is excellent news. Here’s a Youtube tutorial on using both modes.
It’s compatible with every Canon DSLR since you simply attatch one part to the hot-shoe, and attach the other to your flash. You are then free to move up to ~100 feet and take pictures.
